CYMK + RS

I began running print ads as soon as I started my brand in 1975. They were succinct, void of boastful statements or superlatives, and most had type only, no images. Photography would come later. By 1987 I took the plunge and used 4 color printing for the first time. Here’s that gem. The frame is angled just so. It’s nicely backlit to keep the unwanted glare on other people’s work rather than on my own. All horizontal planes are respected. I love this shot! The ad had the right amount of information, humility, and bad-ass-ness for the insertion contract to pay dividends. And not an app in sight according to my opinion.
