Cycling Brothers
by Andy Derrow As an Ohio State graduate, I should have chosen the red and white paint scheme, but I chose blue and yellow instead. As a University of Michigan grad, Chuck should have gone with a blue and yellow paint scheme, but he chose the red and white. Ironic? Who cares! We know what we like, and our college affiliations simply don't matter when it comes to our Richard Sachs frames. Chuck lives in Columbus, Ohio and I live in Ridgewood, New Jersey. We've done a few rides together in the past, but we always enjoy the Ridgewood to Bear Mountain ride. It's a 73 miles cruise through Harriman State Park to the Bear Mountain summit on the Hudson river just south of the West Point Military Academy. It was a gorgeous day with 50 mile views in all directions. A glorious day made better by the indisputable fact that no matter how many cyclists we'd meet on the way or at the summit, none of them could possibly look better than we did with our bikes. Of course most of the other cyclists weren't carrying an extra 30 pounds like I am, but that's a different story for a different time.
Thanks Richard. No matter what we look like, you make us all look better.
